The Vuvuzela Moment

Yesterday at exactly 12 o clock, the city of Cape Town blew its vuvuzelas in unison. The 'Vuvuzela Moment' was an initiative by South Africans to show our pride, excitement and support for the upcoming tournament.

More than 2 hours later, people were still blowing them like it's for trophies. People walked, crawled, limped, hitchhiked and drove to the city center to be a part of this noisy occasion.

For all the controversy and polarization those plastic trumpets have caused, they are synonymous with football in Mzansi ('the south,' as we call it). It was the perfect way to celebrate the final 48 hours before football takes over the country completely!
