The Royal Wedding

In a few days' time, the world will experience a once-in-a-generation spectacle: between HRH Prince Wills and his wife to be, Lady Catherine. Whether you're a Royalist or a Republican, everyone is bound to be affected by 'Royal Wedding Fever' - even if it just means eating a slice of your gran's home-made chocolate cake on a souvenir plate with William and Kate staring up at you from under the crumbs.

One of the most anticipated consequences of their matrimony is the boost it is predicted to have on the tourism industry in the UK. Love 'em or hate 'em, those Windsors certainly know how to draw a crowd. With figures in the millions, tourists from throughout the world will be flooding into the capital, hoping to catch a glimpse of the groom and bride. We're personally more excited to see those fantastic horses from the Household Cavalry trotting down the streets. Word around the water cooler is that they've been rehearsing their drill for the last month, day in and day out. It's going to be fantastic seeing them in their blue and red uniforms, escorting our queen and her family to Westminster Cathedral.

Royal Horses

Nobody does 'pageantry' like the British do, and our hotels expect an influx of visitors from far off Commonwealth countries of the old empire - strangely enough including the USA (still no hard feelings, guys) - all hoping to be able to sit and reminisce one day that they were there when our prince said, 'I do.'

Three cheers for the newly-weds and a huge nod of thanks for the extra bank holiday! Long live the queen; long live Britain.
