Southampton port information

Southampton port is one of the country's busiest and most successful deep-water ports for passengers and cargo. It is the UK's premier cruise port, linking passengers from all over the world to more than 70 destinations. The port is 70 miles from London and is used by cruise passengers travelling into Heathrow, Gatwick, Southampton and Bournemouth airports.

There are three cruise terminals in the port of Southampton:

  • • Queen Elizabeth II cruise terminal - berth 38/39
  • • Mayflower cruise terminal - berth 106
  • • City cruise terminal - berth 101

    Queen Elizabeth II cruise terminal

    There is a cafe in the main passenger lounge, and a buffet in the main departure lounge. Taxis can be booked via the purser's office or outside the terminal at the taxi rank. Full disabled facilities are available as well as payphones and a shuttle bus. A shopping outlet is open during the day.

    Mayflower cruise terminal

    A fully licensed bar is available in the departure lounge after check-in, and refreshments are available in the arrivals hall. The Mayflower cruise terminal has a viewing gallery. This is open one hour before a vessel sails. Passengers will require proof of identity to gain access. There is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall.

    City cruise terminal

    There is a fully licensed bar and a cafe in the departure lounge. Limited refreshments are available after check-in. The main short stay car park is next to the terminal. There is a taxi rank just outside the arrivals hall.

    All passenger terminals are equipped with baggage handling and Customs and immigration facilities. The terminals also have a coach pick-up area for all calling cruise liners. Trained first aid staff are on site too.

    The average disembarkation time for up to 2,000 passengers is around two hours. Special arrangements can be made for express disembarkations and for VIP passengers.

    Southampton port security
