Essential Travel Gets Another Thumbs Up
The 2010 British Travel Awards which were held on 4 November, served to celebrate and reward the best travel companies. The gala dinner, held at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, which is seen as the 'Oscars' of the travel industry, is an awards programme in which the nominees and winners are selected by the public.
Among the nominees was Essential Travel who received a nod in the Best UK Airport Accommodation and/or Parking Provider category. They also recently won the Best Travel Add Ons Website Award at the TravelMole Web Awards in June 2010. Included in their array of accolades are awards such as Best Travel Insurance Website of 2009 at the Travolution Awards.
Where The Magic Happens
The British Travel Awards nomination took place from April to June this year and travel and tourism professionals and members of the BTA Consumer Council were asked to nominate travel companies. Essential Travel were honoured that they made the shortlist.
The votes are audited by Deloitte LLP which ensures that both integrity and transparency of the awards process is not compromised. Over 220,000 votes were cast which currently makes British Travel Awards the largest independent awards scheme in the UK.
British Travel Awards' chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said:
