I haven't received my confirmation email...

Our confirmation emails are automatically sent within minutes of your policy being purchased. If you haven't received your policy confirmation email please:

1. Check your junk mail folder, sometimes a confirmation can be sent to your junk mail. If you haven't already done so, make sure we are added to your list of safe senders.

2. Did you enter the correct email address when you booked?
If you have checked your junk mail and still cant see a booking confirmation email from Essential Travel, it may be that you entered your email address incorrectly at the time of booking. Please contact us and we'll be happy to update your email address and re-send your email confirmation.

Where will my policy allow me to travel?

You should choose your policy according to which countries you plan to visit. You can choose from policies covering the following regions:

UK - means England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of man.

Europe - means all countries West of the Ural Mountains, British Isles, Ireland, islands in the Mediterranean, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Canary Islands, Madeira, Iceland and the Azores, except rentails within 150 kilometres of your home in your usual country of residence.

Worldwide - means any country.

What is the maximum age you insure up to?

Our car hire insurance policies offer cover for individuals from the age of 21 up to 84 years of age, provided they hold a full driving license and are named on the car rental agreement.

What is the maximum trip duration on an annual policy?

An annual policy will cover you for any number of trips during a 12 month period, as long as each trip does not exceed 60 days.

What is the maximum duration for a daily policy?

The maximum duration for a daily policy is 62 days.

Do I have to be a UK resident to get car hire insurance from EssentialTravel.co.uk?

Yes - our policies can only be purchased by UK residents.

Can I cancel my car hire insurance policy?

Every policy comes with a 14 day cooling off period after purchase in which cancellations can be made and a full refund would be given, provided you haven't yet travelled on the policy. Outside of this 14 day period or once the policy has been travelled on, you will unfortunately not be entitled to a refund for your cancellation.
