And while we're on the subject of airlines' 'pay as you go' inflight charges, I have to admit there are some things I would happily pay extra for. Forget legroom, first run films and red wine - that's a given. No, I'd pay not to sit next to or near ... children. I know that's a terrible thing to say - and I am a proud auntie and love the many kids I know - but at 37 000ft, give me peace, space and freedom from little sods drumming their bored feet on the back of my seat.

I'd also pay not to sit near anyone talking on a mobile phone. Seriously - 'I'M ON THE PLANE ...' coming to a seat near you soon!
