Older teens can brave the Fright Nights at Thorpe Park (until Nov 1). As well as taking to the usual rides in the dark (including the terrifying Saw), there'll be various horror mazes, roaming ghouls and frightful surprises.
The London Dungeon is scary at the best of times, but at Halloween it comes alive. The special event this year is The Scare Witch Trial (until Oct 31) where the starnge creatures roam around you and, if you're not careful, you might just find yourself on trial.
This place is dubbed Britain's most haunted castle for a reason. A host of haunting events have been programmed to add to the thrill, though the spooky ghost trail around the castle is particularly worth catching (Oct 26 to Oct 31).
Bristol Gardens Zoo
Bristol Gardens Zoo is going all out with a Halloween festival (Oct 24 to Nov 1). The zoo witch and her cat are coming out to entertain the children, plus there's a fancy dress parade and pumpkin carving competition.
