1. Tokyo

First up for Easter 2020 - Tokyo. Why Tokyo? Because the famously-beautiful Japanese autumn cherry blossom - sakura - happens around this time of year.

Timing a holiday to see the cherry blossoms is a dicey affair, with the blooming season varying each year according to the climate, varying considerably from one region of Japan to another, and lasting only a week or two in each spot.

With the UK's school Easter holidays falling for the second year in a row at the very start of April, you might just catch the sakura in Tokyo if you jet off as school breaks up. Or if not you can head further north from Tokyo and the Kanto region to either Tohoku or Hokkaido.

Holiday Extras travel guides team visited Tokyo two years ago and made what is still YouTube's top guide, so if you want to get the best from a visit to Tokyo check out our guide below.

2. The Canary Islands

What, all of them? Sure. They're all great. And four different Canary Islands feature in our customers' top ten destinations (by booking volume) this Easter. Our travel guides team has made it to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote at one time or another to film and write about these beautiful islands, so we have plenty of guides to all three. And remember, Holiday Extras doesn't just help you with your airport parking, hotel and lounge before your trip - we also offer hassle-free transfers at more than 4,000 holiday destinations worldwide - including Tenerife.

3. Barbados

Next on our list of great Easter breaks, our customers' fastest-growing destination right now - Bridgetown, Barbados. The gateway to the eastern Caribbean, Grantley Adams International is suddenly so popular with our customers it's up 63% on last year, tipping it into our top 20 destinations for the very first time.

Fully a third of visitors to Barbados come from the UK each year, according to the Ministry of Tourism, and another third from the US. British holidaymakers used to home comforts should therefore be amply provided for in this welcoming commonwealth paradise, while the island's native culture, cuisine, nightlife and world-famous beaches will offer plenty to engage more adventurous travellers too.

Our customers' most popular destinations for Easter 2020

1. Tenerife
2. Lanzarote
3. Alicante
4. Malaga
5. Orlando
6. Faro
7. Palma de Mallorca
8. Gran Canaria
9. Dubai
10. Fuertaventura

4. Orlando, Florida

If it's a summer break with the kids you're looking for, Disney World Florid has to be a top choice. This Easter it's our customers' fifth most popular destination.

And with the two new Star Wars worlds opening last year in the two big American Disney resorts - Orlando at the end of August and California at the end of May - now's a great time to try the rides if you're friend of R2D2.

5. Corvera

Never heard of it? You're not alone. Corvera is a new airport that opened last January in southern Spain, serving the lesser-travelled Costa Cálida.

Unlike the very well-travelled Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca to the north and west, Costa Cálida has the advantage of relative obscurity amongst UK travellers (and unlike the Costa de Almeria to the east isn't covered in plastic greenhouses).

The new airport offers an opportunity for British holidaymakers to explore a whole new section of the Spanish southern coast, and with the paint barely dry everything is spic and span for your visit.

Book your holiday extras early

It pays to book your airport parking, airport hotel or your lounge as soon as you book your flights. Prices usually go up nearer the date you fly, and last year Holiday Extras saved our airport parking customers £100 each on average when they pre-booked their airport parking instead of paying on the day.

6. Easter Island

Since it's Easter, why not give Easter Island a whirl? Located right in-between Christmas Island and August Bank Holiday Monday Island, Easter Island is most easily reached from the Chilean capital of Santiago. People visit to see the Maoi, the mysterious stone heads - we have an extensive guide to Easter Island with more details.
