Merebeech Ltd Ceases Trading - Advice And Information

Summary: Take Me Too (Ski) and Take Me Too (The River) travel operators under parent company Merebeech Ltd, have had to cease trading following the collapse of Merebeech Ltd. The operator, who also owned Phoenix Holidays, has ceased trading.

If you have booked your trip through this company and it included a flight, it is advised you contact the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for information on your flight status.

The CAA has confirmed that Passengers who are already overseas, will be able to return on the scheduled tickets they purchased through Merebeech Ltd as part of their package.

How Will This Affect Customers

White Horse Insurance Ireland Ltd, will extend cover (subject to all other terms and conditions) under the following policy sections for a customer who has been delayed overseas due to this incident:

  • Emergency Medical Expenses and Repatriation
  • Hospital Benefit
  • Personal Accident

Cancellation

No cover exists under this section as the normal conditions of cover apply. Please refer to your insurance booklet for confirmation. The General Exclusions of cover such as tour operators or any companies becoming insolvent or being unable to fulfil their obligations and claims which but for the existence of this insurance would be covered under any other insurance also apply.

Curtailment

Travel Delay

In respect of any customers who have been delayed returning to the UK due to this incident, no delayed departure compensation is applicable as the delay has not been caused by an airline strike or industrial action, adverse weather conditions or mechanical breakdown. Third Party Supplier Insolvency

For polices which provide this cover, no cover exists as the policy excludes claims for any costs which are recoverable from any company who is bonded elsewhere. Premium Refunds

No premium refunds are to be made outside of the cooling off period. Premium refunds within the cooling off period should be processed by the sales agent as normal.

Airport Parking - Should you need to cancel your airport parking and did not purchase a cancellation waiver when making your booking, you will be charged a cancellation fee of £5. Please note: cancellations will only be refunded if made at least 24 hours before the expected time of arrival.

Airport Hotels - You can amend or cancel a booking up to 48 hours before arrival. Depending on which hotel you book the cancellation will either be free or a fee of £15 per room will be applicable. No refunds are available if you cancel within less than 48 hours notice.
