Sports Travel Insurance
Choose the right sports cover level
Holidays are a great time to get active and over 100 sports are covered as Standard on all of our policies at no extra cost. However, for the more adventurous activities, extra sports cover (referred to as Sports Grades) will need to be added to your Single Trip, Annual Multi Trip or Backpacker policy so that you can have fun the safe way.
What are Sports Grades?
For the purpose of our policies, sports and hazardous activities are assigned to a Sports Grade which corresponds to the level of risk involved. The more extreme your sport, the higher the Sports Grade you need.
- Sports Grade 1 - Activities like cycling, jet-skiing and kayaking don't require extra cover, we cover 110 sports at no extra cost
- Sports Grade 2 - Activities like bungee jumping, safari and motorcycling (and more) require extra sports cover to be added to your policy
- Sports Grade 3 - Activities like paragliding and tandem sky diving require extra sports cover to be added to your policy
- Sports Grade 4 - High risk activities such as off piste skiing, canyoning and rock climbing require the highest level of sports cover
Adding extra sports cover is easy!
Simply get a quote above and select which Sports Grade you need. A full list of sports and hazardous activities, grouped by grade, have also been provided in the help box beside this.
Not sure which Sports Grade you need?
Dont worry, simply search for the activity in the sports search box below and well tell you which Sports Grade to choose.
Sports Injuries Medical Cover
Providing that you have the correct Sports Grade for the sport you're doing and that you're taking part in the sport in a non-professional capacity you will be covered fully for any subsequent medical costs in the event of an injury.
Experts' Top Tip: Driving to the airport? Our Meet & Greet airport parking services are ideal if you're travelling with sports equipment as you can avoid lugging heavy equipment & luggage by dropping your car at departures.
Add Extra Cover
You can customise your policy further with pre-existing medical condition cover, sports and a number of other specialist add-ons.
Do You Need to Declare a Medical Condition?
If you have a pre-existing medical condition its vital that you declare it or you could invalidate your entire policy. Insurers dont like to think that youve hidden things from them and you may be surprised to find out that many common medical conditions such as allergies can be added without any additional cost. Whats more, you even have the option to declare a condition but then exclude it from your policy. What this means is that youve told your insurer about your condition but decided not to cover it, so you will be covered medically for anything unrelated to that condition.
Do You Need Extra Sports or Specialist Cover?
A decent policy will include cover for many sporty or adventure activities as standard. However the more adventurous or dangerous the activity, like winter sports, the more likely it is that you will need to purchase additional sports insurance. You can customise your policy further a number of other specialist add-ons.
By adding Winter Sports to your Single, Annual or Backpacker policy you can take part in over 26 winter sports and be covered for:

Simple & easy to use website
Easy to understand and use website. No interaction with any staff members so cannot comment...hopefully we won't need to use the insurance but as for setting it up, no problems at all.

5 stars for the ease of use (website) and fast booking procedure
Getting a proposal was easy. You then only had to make up your mind about the sort of coverage you want and book it accordingly. I decided against the paper documents (sent by mail) just for the reason being I ran out of time as I booked late. Fortunately I didn't have to make use of the services on the spot and therefore cannot comment on that part.
