Winter Sports cover is available to add onto to any of our policies and includes cover for more than 25 different sporting activities.
Options for Ski Travel Insurance
Essential Travel's policies are structured so that the best policy for you depends on your trip.
- Single Trip with Winter Sports – for one off trips up to 87 days with 17 days of skiing (ages 2 – 65*)
- Annual Multi Trip with Winter Sports – for multiple trips throughout the year of up to 45 days each, with up to 17 days for skiing/wintersports per year (ages 2 – 65*)
- Backpacker with Winter Sports – continuous trips for 2 years with up to 31 days per policy for skiing (ages 19 – 55)

Winter Sports Medical Insurance
By adding Winter Sports to your policy, you will have access to mountain rescue, helicopter rescue costs and repatriation and the following benefits:
- Medical Expenses up to £5 million - £10 million
- Hospital Benefit up to £600 - £1,200
- Personal Accident up to £15,000 - £30,000
Helmet Safety
Always exercise caution and wear a helmet when skiing or partaking in any other Winter Sport to benefit from your cover. This is also a requirement for your travel insurance to remain in place.
Off Piste Skiing
When you add additional Winter Sports cover, you are also offered off piste cover.
