Holiday Insurance for Single Trips in Europe

If you're planning a trip to the continent, our single trip policy is ideal, lasting for up to 3 months. We have included cover for popular places to travel to like Turkey, Cyprus and Russia in our European travel insurance quotes, giving you the opportunity to explore the treasures these destinations have to offer.

Single Trip Insurance

Single Trip travel insurance is ideal for travellers aged up to 74 years. Some important features are:

  • Up to 87 days protection - for those aged up to 64 years
  • Up to 31 days protection - for those aged 65-74 years

*Consider our specialised travel insurance if you are over the age of 74.

Your Single Trip policy can be adjusted to 4 different cover levels as well as optional protection for pre-existing medical conditions, sports and winter sports.

Experts' Top Tip - After filling in your details during the quote process, you can amend your cover to include weddings, golf, business travel and cruises anywhere in the world, depending on what you need.

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

The EHIC grants you free or reduced cost medical treatment in EU countries.
However, its use is limited because:

  • The EHIC can only be utilised for medical cover in state hospitals and at times access to state run hospitals may not be extensive.
  • Specialist treatment in private medical centres is not covered, which could cause you problems as some resorts call private ambulances and you get taken straight to a private clinic.
  • Repatriation is not included and you are not covered for holiday cancellations, baggage loss, legal expenses etc.

For this reason, it is essential to take out European Holiday Insurance for added safety.

If you want to know more about the differences between travel insurance and EHIC cover, you'll find this Essential Travel magazine's EHIC article very helpful.

Add Extra Cover

You can customise your policy further with pre-existing medical condition cover, sports and a number of other specialist add-ons.

Do You Need to Declare a Medical Condition?

If you have a pre-existing medical condition it’s vital that you declare it or you could invalidate your entire policy. Insurers don’t like to think that you’ve hidden things from them and you may be surprised to find out that many common medical conditions such as allergies can be added without any additional cost. What’s more, you even have the option to declare a condition but then exclude it from your policy. What this means is that you’ve told your insurer about your condition but decided not to cover it, so you will be covered medically for anything unrelated to that condition.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

Specialist cover can be added to your policy in minutes via our easy Online Medical Screening system.

Do You Need Extra Sports or Specialist Cover?

A decent policy will include cover for many sporty or adventure activities as standard. However the more adventurous or dangerous the activity, like winter sports, the more likely it is that you will need to purchase additional sports insurance. You can customise your policy further a number of other specialist add-ons.

Hazardous Sports and activities

If you want to play sport on holiday, make sure you do so safely by adding the correct sports grade to your policy.

100+ sports are covered at no extra cost on our policies!
