Safari (non-UK organised)

Going on a safari trip to Africa or Australia is one of the best trips you can take to immerse yourself in a whole new different world. The wildlife will give you a first-hand look into the animal kingdom, and possibly enlighten and provide you some fresh insights about the circle of life. Before engaging on a safari trip, make sure that you have your travel insurance with you.

Safari trips include a day or weeks of exploring the wild - be it in the jungle or desert lands. It allows you to observe the wild animals in their own and natural habitat. The safari trip is usually packaged and organised by a travel or tourism agency; you can go with a group or arrange a private safari with friends and family. An experienced guide and a driver are assigned to take you to the best sites.

Beware of the potential dangers involved in safari trips. There are wild animals roaming freely that can possibly hurt or attack you, especially if you are not knowledgeable regarding safety procedures. Other potential dangers that may not seem threatening at first are insects that carry viruses, such as malaria. If left untreated, this can be fatal. The rough roads can also be hazardous for your health - the bumpy rides can result in bruises, bumps, or internal injuries. A safari trip may put you far away from civilization, thus medical assistance may be hard to get, especially when you do not have your travel insurance.

Safari trips that are non-UK organised are considered a Grade 2 risk sport, with a medium chance for injury. It is best that you obtain travel insurance before going on a safari trip.
