Horse Riding: Grade 2-3.

There are a variety of horse riding vacation packages available - some offer lessons for novices and some are exclusive horseback holidays for riders with a lot more experience. But whether you are already a professional rider or still a beginner, you will require horse riding travel insurance to protect you from financial burdens in the event of a riding accident.

Horse riding, however, can also be a risky sport. Common injuries from horse riding include bruises, sprains, and strains. More serious injuries may include dislocations, fractures, and concussions. If you sustain serious injuries, you may require air lifting (depending on how remote your vacation spot is), hospitalisation, and sometimes even surgery and rehabilitation. These procedures can end up being quite pricey, especially in some countries. Without proper cover, horse riding accidents can set you back thousands of pounds. This is the reason why it is best to always have sports travel insurance in case of accidents.

Horse Riding (Non-competitive): Grade 2

Those participating in horse riding for recreational purposes on holiday and are at a beginner level must purchase Grade 2 Cover. General exclusions from the cover include horse riding for polo, hunting or show jumping or any other competitive sport.

Horse Riding (Competitive): Grade 3

If you are planning to partake in competitive horse riding, including horseback hunting or polo playing, on holiday then you will need to upgrade your cover to Grade 3. Be sure to secure sports travel insurance to protect yourself financially should you be involved in a horse jumping accident.
