What is an Excess?

An excess is the first part of any claim which the claimant has to pay. The amount of the excess is shown within the policy wording under the schedule of benefits, limits and excesses.

Please note: Essential Plus and Superior policies will have lower levels of excess than our Standard policy.

Can I have a travel insurance policy with zero or nil excess?

You can select the excess waiver option after quoting for zero excess. If you donít select this, there are no policies which have a zero excess. However, you may wish to consider our Superior cover policy, which has the lowest excess of any of our policies. Simply get a quote.

What if there is an act of war or terrorism or a natural disaster at my chosen holiday destination? Am I safe to travel there? Will I be covered?

Your safety abroad is our primary concern and for this reason we are only able to cover people travelling to destinations approved by the FCO.
