What start date should I select?

When buying Single Trip Travel Insurance please make the start date of the policy the date you leave the UK. Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance policies can only be purchased 30 days in advance of their start date so please take this into consideration when making your booking.

Please note: When purchasing a Single Trip policy, coverage for cancellation begins immediately. However, the cover on an Annual policy only starts when the policy commences.

Can I purchase travel insurance during my trip?

Unfortunately, you cannot purchase travel insurance during your trip. Our travel insurance has to be purchased before your trip commences and this must be while you are in the UK.

Where will my policy allow me to travel?

You should choose your policy according to which countries you plan to visit. Our policies cover the following regions:

  • UK
  • Europe
  • Worldwide excluding the USA and Canada
  • Worldwide including the USA and Canada

If you are unsure which category the country you are travelling to falls under, please check our full list of country classifications.

Please note: you are only covered when travelling to destinations approved by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Use the FCO Travel Advice widget to check you will be covered travelling to your intended destination.

What is the difference between Standard, Essential Plus and Superior cover?

Standard cover is for a last-minute holiday. If you are travelling within a few days, you may not need things like cancellation cover. The Standard cover will give you basic protection and Medical cover but no Cancellation or Baggage cover.

Essential cover is ideal for people looking for a comprehensive policy but without cover for their personal possessions, money and passport.

Essential Plus cover is ideal for most travellers. You will have the assurance of medical and cancellation cover, plus the added benefit of having your personal possessions, money and passport covered.

Superior is our highest and most popular level of cover. The cover levels are the same as Essential Plus but some of the cover limits are higher, including the limits for cancellation and baggage, and some of the excesses are reduced. You have the option to upgrade to Superior Cover at any time throughout the booking process.

Can I book a policy for today?

Yes, no problem, you can make a booking and travel the same day. Simply visit our Travel Insurance home page to get a quote. Our policy confirmation email is automatically sent to you within minutes of your policy being purchased. You will also be able to view the policy wording by logging into My Account.

How do I make a group policy booking?

If you wish to book travel insurance for a group of 8 people or more please contact us. One of our group booking specialists will arrange your group policy.
