Travel Insurance for Epilepsy

If you suffer from epilepsy or related conditions such as fits or seizures you can travel with the ease and comfort knowing that you are fully covered by adding extra medical cover for your condition to any of our Single Trip, Annual Multi Trip or Backpacker policies.

Nearly half a million people suffer from epilepsy in the UK and there are over 40 different types of epilepsy. To ensure that you have the correct travel insurance for your particular form of epilepsy we ask our customers to fill in our easy medical screening questionnaire. You will receive a tailor made quote specifically for epilepsy, which can be added to your policy.

Medical Screening Questions for Epilepsy

During the medical screening process, you will be asked a few confidential details about your conditions so that we can adjust your policy accordingly. Questions will include and are not limited to:

  • If awake, do you normally lose consciousness during a fit / seizure?
  • How many different medicines do you take for your epilepsy / seizures?
  • How long ago was your first fit/seizure?
  • What is your epilepsy / seizures caused by?
  • Apart from any drugs to prevent epilepsy, is there any ongoing / planned treatment?

If you are over 74, please see our Over 74s travel insurance page.

Experts' Top Tip - It's important to have your medical history on hand to assist you in answering the above questions about your condition.

Customise your policy

You have the choice of up to 4 cover levels and 4 areas of cover so that you only pay for the cover you need. You can also add cover for weddings, cruise, sports and business.

By customising your policy to include travel insurance for epilepsy, you are ensuring that you have less to worry about should your epilepsy cause any complications.

All travel insurance policies include:

  • Medical Expenses cover ranging from £2.5million to £10 million
  • Hospital Benefit cover ranging from £300 to £1,200 per day
  • Personal Accident cover ranging from £7,500 to £30,000

Don't want to add extra protection for epilepsy?

If you have a medical condition we strongly advise that you declare it. However, if you do not wish to add the extra cover, you can choose to exclude cover for epilepsy from your policy after you have completed the easy online medical screening process.

Do I Have A Pre-Existing Condition?

Many people are unsure of what is meant by a pre-existing medical condition. Take a look at our great Q & A section that focuses on answering this question. Read More

Add Extra Cover

You can customise your policy further with pre-existing medical condition cover, sports and a number of other specialist add-ons.

Do You Need to Declare a Medical Condition?

If you have a pre-existing medical condition it’s vital that you declare it or you could invalidate your entire policy. Insurers don’t like to think that you’ve hidden things from them and you may be surprised to find out that many common medical conditions such as allergies can be added without any additional cost. What’s more, you even have the option to declare a condition but then exclude it from your policy. What this means is that you’ve told your insurer about your condition but decided not to cover it, so you will be covered medically for anything unrelated to that condition.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

Specialist cover can be added to your policy in minutes via our easy Online Medical Screening system.

Do You Need Extra Sports or Specialist Cover?

A decent policy will include cover for many sporty or adventure activities as standard. However the more adventurous or dangerous the activity, like winter sports, the more likely it is that you will need to purchase additional sports insurance. You can customise your policy further a number of other specialist add-ons.

Hazardous Sports and activities

If you want to play sport on holiday, make sure you do so safely by adding the correct sports grade to your policy.

100+ sports are covered at no extra cost on our policies!
