We cover a number of pre-existing medical conditions as standard with all our policies. One of these no screen medical conditions is IBS.

Before taking out or renewing your travel insurance policy with us, we need you to declare any pre-existing medical conditions you may have. This can be done easily and privately online and is step 4 of 5 on our online booking/renewal process.

We Cover IBS

On the whole, most standard travel insurance policies do not include cover for pre-existing medical conditions such as IBS and other digestive conditions. At Essential Travel, we classify IBS under conditions that do not require medical screening. This means that it will be covered on your policy, at no additional cost!

What Must I Do?

Provided that you have disclosed your medical condition, we will cover it under our standard Travel Insurance plan. Following this, any emergency medical costs that you incur while on holiday, related to IBS, will be covered. This includes:

• Doctors consultations
• Tests
• Medication
• Hospital care if needed

Do I Really Need Cover?

Taking out IBS or IBD cover along with your regular travel insurance is a precautionary measure that will save you from added stress while on holiday. We will ensure that travelling with IBS is manageable, by providing cover that offers a financial safety net for your condition.
