01 September 2010New Zealand is set to host the Rugby World Cup next year and is doing its utmost to promote the event as it counts down to kick off.
Tomorrow (September 2nd) will see New Zealand Tourism open a special venue in Sydney, Australia, which will remain there for ten days, giving visitors a 360-degree multimedia experience of the nation.
The Giant Rugby Ball will look at the country's history, people and landscapes as it seeks to encourage more rugby fans to visit during 2011.
Some of the world's top rugby-playing nations will descend on New Zealand next year in an attempt to prize the Webb Ellis Cup away from holders South Africa.
The 25m by 17m promotional structure, which is shaped like a rugby ball, will be officially opened by dignitaries from both Australia and New Zealand.
Maori king Kiingi Tuheitia Paki will be in attendance, as will deputy mayor of Sydney Philip Black, New South Wales opposition leader Barry O'Farrell and representatives of both the Wallabies and the All Blacks.
