We love going on holiday with our dogs - having the chance to bring them along on long countryside walks and watching them swim in the sea is one of the most fun parts of any trip.

However, it can be an arduous task getting them back to wherever you're staying whilst trying to keep your car in a condition that doesn't remind you of a scene from a wet Glastonbury Festival. But no more, enter the Kurgo Wander Hammock.

What Is The Wander Hammock?

The Wander Hammock is, put simply, a great idea. I regularly remember my parents cursing as the dog jumped out of the car after a trip to the forest, leaving in his wake a muddy, damp, hairy mess on the seats. At the time this wasn't a bad thing for me (as it normally ended up with me earning £5 by cleaning out the car), but I can see from their perspective it probably was quite frustrating.

And that's what the Wander Hammock does; it resolves this problem just about entirely. You can cover up and protect the front and back of your seats with the simple waterproof hammock design, whilst helping to keep your dog safe and comfortably confined throughout any journey.

The hammock design also helps ensure your dog won't fall down into the footwell floor space during any quick stops, further ensuring your dog's journey is as seamless as possible. It comes in a small, simple case that packs away neatly when not in use, and unfolds easily when required.

How Does The Wander Hammock Work?

Below is a simple guide to using the Kurgo Wander Hammock in a car with detachable headrests:

  1. Remove the front and rear headrests
  2. Place the headrest column through the D-rings at the end of the strap, locking the hammock into place
  3. Repeat for each headrest
  4. Tighten all straps so the bottom of the hammock still touches the seat and there is no slack in the footwell
  5. Tie the elastic bungees on the bottom of the hammock to each of the seat D-rings to help secure the hammock
  6. Get your pet to jump aboard and enjoy the ride

(Instructions for cars without detachable headrests are available in the Installation Guide)

The Wander Hammock also has a zip section that allows people to sit in the back of the car with the dog. The zip simply creates leg room for the person and ensures the car still remains dog-proof.
