Honolulu International Airport (HNL) Information

Introduction

Located just three miles from Honolulu city and nine miles from Waikiki Beach, Honolulu International Airport is a three-terminal facility with a reputation for its unique and beautiful design. The artistic and cultural ambience is created by features such as waterfalls, fishponds and outdoor gardens. The airports three terminals are separated as follows: Overseas, Inter-island and Commuter, and are connected by a free shuttle bus.

Airport parking at Honolulu

Parking facilities at the airport are plentiful with short-term, long-term and valet parking available. Parking charges are charged at an hourly, daily or monthly flat rate. Shuttles link the car parks that are not within walking distance of the terminals.

Getting to and from the airport

To get to the airport by car from Waikiki, head along Kalakaua avenue and then turn left onto Kalakaua avenue, which leads to the H-1 freeway. Follow the freeway west, following signs for the airport. Bus numbers 19 and 20 run to Waikiki and other downtown destinations from the airport, while the Airport Waikiki Express shuttle bus operates services from in front of the terminal buildings to popular Waikiki hotels. Taxis are also available from outside the terminals.

Amenities at Honolulu International Airport

Essential facilities at the airport include ATMs, banks and bureaux de change, while dining and refreshments are covered by a wide selection of restaurants and bars. Customary duty-free shops are on-hand, while bookshops, newsagents, clothes and luxury good retailers comprise the shopping options. For business travellers, a business centre is located in the Main Terminal and offers internet access, international telephones services and fax facilities among other facilities.

Passenger queries can be dealt with by the information booths, which are located in the Baggage Claim areas of all three terminals and at both ends of the main lobby.
