Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN) Information

Introduction

Servicing 16 million passengers per year, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is not only Sweden's largest airport but the busiest in all Scandinavia. At last count, 67 airlines fly out of Arlanda to domestic destinations plus 137 international destinations in 42 countries around the world. Four terminals (2, 3, 4 and 5) are connected by courtesy shuttle bus. The airport is located 43kms north of Stockholm.

Airport parking at Stockholm

Car parks at the airport contain spaces for more than 20,000 vehicles. Multi-storey parking garages can be found near all four terminals. In the climate-controlled SkyCity parking garage between Terminals 4 and 5, there are shops, restaurants, conference rooms and a hotel, as well as a bank, a pharmacy and a medical centre. There are several outdoor car parks as well, many of which have short-term spaces near the terminals where parking is allowed for a maximum of 1 hour. Rates in all of the above are €5.35 per hour, and range from €22.50 to €30 per day. An auxiliary outdoor car park, a short walk from the terminals, charges slightly lower rates. For long-term parking use the Alpha and Beta car parks where fees are €10.70 per day and €48 per week.

Getting to and from Stockholm

If driving from Stockholm, take the E4 north to Arlanda and follow the signs for the airport. Arlanda Express high-speed trains depart from four stations throughout the terminal buildings, leaving every 15 minutes for the 20-minute trip into Stockholm. Long-distance trains also service the airport (stations are in Terminal 5 and SkyCity), connecting with a number of regional destinations such as Uppsala and Norrkoping. Buses run about 300 times each day between the airport and Stockholm (journey time, 45 minutes), plus there is frequent bus service to Uppsala and other area cities. Taxi ranks are located outside each terminal as well.
