Tenerife: Getting There

By Air

Luckily for those looking for a bit of sun, holiday packages to Tenerife can often be very affordable. Charter flights go out from the UK to both major airports in Tenerife: Tenerife South (Reina Sofia, near Los Cristianos) and Tenerife North (Los Rodeos, near La Laguna) and prices start from around £80 return with airlines such as Easyjet or Thomas Cook.

By Ferry

Transmediterranea operate a weekly ferry to Tenerife from Spain's mainland. If you're in Spain already, and fancy a bit of sea travel, it's well worth the cheap ticket price. The journey takes two days.

On The Island

Getting to your accommodation on the island tends to be easy and inexpensive. The island's TITSA buses and local taxis are reliable and usually run past midnight. You'll find both services right outside the terminal. Be warned, however: the passenger loading laws for taxis in Tenerife are strict. If you're travelling in a group of more than four, pre-book a transfer bus. It works out cheaper than two cabs.
