Nice Leisure

Being located on the Mediterranean coast, Nice offers water-orientated sports options as well as many fine golf courses. Horseback riding is also popular in Nice and the shopping here is great.

Golf

Golf Bastide du Roi (Golf de Biot) is situated just outside Nice and is reputed to be the oldest golf course on the Riviera. The course is located on the seafront and is fairly flat and of a moderate level; visitors are welcome. Green fees are not excessive and reservations are not necessary on weekdays, as long as you arrive here early.

Horseback riding

Club Hippique de Nice is located just outside of Nice near the airport and offers a number of riding rinks. Riding sessions last about an hour and it is best to book ahead of time, particularly in the summer.

Scuba diving

There are several scuba diving centres in town, yet the best one is reputed to be the Centre International de Plongée, situated adjacent to the old port. The centre can accommodate first-time divers as well as offering all the equipment needed for experienced divers.

Tennis

The best tennis club in Nice and also the oldest is the Nice Lawn Tennis Club on Parc Impérial. Visitors can pay for two-hour sessions or purchase one-week tickets, which give access to the 13 outdoor clay courts and the six outdoor hard-surface courts.
