Nice Transport
Buses provide tourists with the best option for getting about Nice, with the Sunbus running to most points of interest within the city as well as from the airport to the main bus station and then onto Promenade des Anglais. Sunbus is also good for daily tickets and getting on and off when you like, while taxis run to out-of-the-way destinations but are not Nice's best transport option.
By train
The train station in Nice only provides onward transport to cities along the Riviera and does not run to destinations within the city.
By bus
The Sunbus is the main form of shared public transportation in Nice and services run to destinations throughout the city. The main station for Sunbus is Station Centrale on G©n©ral Leclerc square and buses run from here to the likes of the railway station (Gare Nice Ville) and Vieux Nice. Tickets are valid for one hour once stamped. Daily and 14-trip tickets can also be purchased as well as a Nice by Bus pass, which can be valid for one, five or seven days and includes a return trip to the airport. Sunbus tickets are available at tabacs (tobacconists) and Sunbus kiosks.
Taxis
The taxi situation in Nice isn't the best, with drivers frequently overcharging tourists and cabs and taxis usually being difficult to flag down. Make sure you check the meter is reset when you enter the taxi and insist that it remains on throughout the journey. Fares are generally quite expensive.
Tourist services
The Sunbus can be considered a tourist bus service, with the purchasing of a one-day or longer-term ticket enabling visitors to hop on and off any available Sunbus service whenever. Visitors can also make use of the miniature train that makes 45-minute tours of Nice regularly.
