Nice: Eating and Drinking

The grande dame of the French riviera, Nice is the indisputable hub of the Cote d'Azur, if not the whole south of France: the gateway to Cannes, St Tropez, Monaco et al - and a major crowd-puller in its own right. Whether you're here for the famous Provencal cooking, a wander down the historic Promenade des Anglais, a chance to look chic on the beach or just a dip in the Med, you're on to a winner.

Don Camillo

Regarded as one of the best Provencal restaurants in town, current chef Marc Laville's inventive menu doesn't disappoint - but a lack of tables (there are only nine) may do. Book well in advance.
