Be Safe in Zagreb

Zagreb is like any other large European city, where some districts are safe and others quite dangerous. The area around the train and bus station can be dangerous late at night, while opportunistic thieves patrol crowded tourist places. There are no particular public health problems within the city, but take the usual precautions of avoiding eating at outlets with few customers and stick to bottled water.

Safety

Like any large European city, Zagreb has its fair share of crime and criminals. Some areas of the city are more dangerous than others, with the tourist districts relatively free of violent crime. Care should be taken around the bus and train stations late at night, as muggings can occur in these areas. Otherwise, keep a close watch on your personal belongings and be wary of pickpockets and bag snatchers in crowded places.
