Halifax Hotels
It is not difficult to find a suitable place to stay that will suit your taste and budget at Halifax, as it has wide range of accommodation. The selection includes numerous hotels, motels and several hostels, inns and bed and breakfast-style lodgings.
Many of the hotels are located in downtown Halifax on Barrington street, which is in the heart of Halifax. Most of the motels, inns and bed and breakfast lodgings are located on the outskirts of the city. Prices of accommodation rise during the peak season, and advanced bookings should be made to avoid disappointment.
The Citadel Halifax, a three-star hotel, is centrally located and offers a full range of amenities. The Four Points by Sheraton Halifax is also located downtown and is within walking distance of Spring Garden Roads, the famous shopping area at Halifax. The Delta Barrington, a luxury hotel, is located right in the city and is very popular with business travellers. There are two moderately priced inns which are popular with tourists, located in Barrington street; Halifax Waverley Inn and Haliburton House Inn.
Airport hotels
The Halifax International Airport is situated about 40kms from the city centre. As part of its excellent facilities, the airport offers accommodation at the Airport Hotel Halifax, which has more than a 100 rooms, suitable to meet the needs of busy businessmen with its good facilities and excellent service.
As the airport is less than an hour's drive from the city, many travellers prefer to book their accommodation in the city. However, other hotels closer to the airport include the three-star Future Inns Halifax and the Lord Nelson Halifax Hotel. Both of these hotels are located within a 20-minute drive of the airport and they offer good facilities.
The Hilton Garden Inn Halifax Airport is only three kilometres away and offers a complimentary shuttle service to the hotel. The Quaich bed and breakfast is nine kilometres away and the Inn on the Lake is about 10kms away from the airport.
