Brussels Hotels

Brussels has a great range of hotels, both in number and in quality. Many of these cater especially to business travellers, academics, government employees and the like, who attend meetings and conferences in the city. Others are more geared towards holidaymakers, with many budget and mid-range options.

Many government workers and related businesses in Brussels close for the summer, so most of the top hotels have some great deals to make up for the lack of business travellers. During spring and autumn however, you will be hard pushed to find decent lodgings if you haven't booked well in advance.

Where to Stay

As with many Belgian cities, the main tourist centres are largely devoid of hotels, although there are usually plenty within a 10-minute walk. If you are willing to pay top dollar, it is possible to situate yourself right in among the action of Grand Place, or to be in the centre of the CBD.

Most of the quality hotels are located off the main squares like Grand Place, Ste Catherine and St Gery, but are still within walking distance of many attractions. The budget hotels tend to be located near the train and bus stations, but these areas can become unsafe at night, so caution is advised.
