Adelaide Hotels

Adelaide offers visitors an excellent choice for accommodation. You will find five-star luxury hotels alongside mid-range hotels and hostels suitable for backpackers. Whatever your budget, you will be sure to find something to suit.

When to visit

Adelaide's peak season runs from November to January, as many Europeans travel south of the equator to escape cold winters. You will need to ensure you have booked in advance if you are travelling during these months. It can also get busy in July and August, because although this is Australia's winter, many people in the northern hemisphere take their extended summer holidays during this time. Again, it would be wise to book in advance. Spring and autumn are the quietest times to visit the city, when more accommodation is available.

Where to stay

The city centre is home to most of the accommodation options. You may choose to stay at one of the many luxurious hotel establishments such as the Hilton International or the Hyatt Regency. For less expensive accommodation, but still of a good quality, try North Adelaide, only minutes from the city centre. Here you will find many mid-range and family-orientated hotels. You will also be able to find numerous guesthouses and hostels if the hotels are out of your price range.

Outside of the city centre, Adelaide's eastern parklands offer inexpensive accommodation, as does the Adelaide Caravan Park. In the surrounding suburbs, you will find plenty of stunning cottages-turned-guesthouse, which offer peace and quiet away from the frenetic centre.
