Very last minute August bank holiday deals

If you're reading this late on Wednesday afternoon, then you probably didn't catch the last minute August bank holiday deals blog, and you still haven't got around to organising anything for the bank holiday weekend. Worry not, there are plenty of holiday deals still available and, if you can't get away for the whole weekend, there are some decent day trips too

Cottages all over the UK
A quick search on Cottages4You turfed up a ton of late deals all over the UK. There's a six-man cottage (pictured) near Glencoe in Scotland available from Saturday to Monday for £243 - that's £40 each. Or try a four-man cottage in Axbridge in Somerset for £186 for two nights (£46 each).

Lesbos, Greece
For a longer stay, try a range of deals from First Choice departing tomorrow and Monday to Majorca, Corfu and Rhodes. There's also a good deal to Lesbos: seven nights B&B at Eftalou Hotel (pictured). Flights depart from Gatwick and the price tag is £251 per person.

Nice, France
BA Holidays is where I found the best European deals: there's a three night stay at the two star Normandie Hotel with flights for £350 per person. Or, for an urban break farther a field there's a weekend away to New York: three nights, flights and three star hotel Holiday Inn Manhattan on 6th Avenue (pictured) for £698.
