The new seven wonders

Which is more beautiful, the coral filled waters of the Great Barrier Reef or the lush rainforests of the Amazon? If you're struggling to decide, you might want to steer clear of a new online poll.

The survey, set up by www.vote7.com, is looking for the 'New7Wonders of Nature' and is asking a worldwide audience for their favourites. You can pick from Angel Falls, Galapagos, the Dead Sea, Black Forest or the Cliffs of Moher among 13 others. You'll have to wait until 2011 for the results but, given the number of people who are likely to vote, it should be a revealing outcome.

Cliffs Of Moher

Vote7's last effort to pitch world sights against each other saw more than 100 million people vote for their New7Wonders of the World - the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu and Christ Redeemer all made the cut.

The Dead Sea

Interestingly, no UK sight made the final seven then, and no UK natural sight makes the finalist list on the New7Wonders of Nature. Perhaps those suggesting entries haven't seen Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, the peaks of the Lake District or the Highlands of Scotland.
