May Bank Holiday Bargains 2010

May is a glorious month, isn't it? Two whole bank holidays, two whole days off to do what you will. Glorious. If you're adamant you're not going to waste the day lolling around in your pyjamas, check out these three bank holiday bargains, guaranteed to tempt you away from the telly.

DUBAI
Dubai just seems to keep getting cheaper and cheaper. Telextext Holidays have found a cracking deal through Away Holidays that includes three nights, four star accommodation and flights for £323 per person flying out from London on May 1. The site also has deals out to Milan, Madrid and Marrakech on May 1: prices for three nights in three star accommodation: £140, £151, £189 respectively.

SPA IN NOTTINGHAM
If you'd rather stay local, enjoy a change of scenery and a bit of pampering at Thoresby Hall Hotel & Spa in Nottingham. Warner Leisure Hotels are offering a one week sale on May bank holiday breaks across a range of its hotels across the country and this cosy spa hotel is on the budget list. Book three nights half board (includes breakfast and a three course evening meal) for £249 per person (a saving of £70 per person). Sale ends Apr 19.

SLEEP UNDER THE STARS IN FRANCE
No, not camping, but almost. The French have come up with a fancy new style of eco-friendly accommodation: small (about 10x10x10 foot) square, cabin-like buildings that can be transported by lorry and set up just about anywhere. Each sports a transparent dome ceiling, an astronomical telescope and stellar chart for all your star-gazing enthusiasts. It also manages to squeeze in all the basics: bed, kitchen, bathroom, flat screen TV... There are Carre' d'Etoiles sites across France and costs a shoestring-friendly 90 euros per night.
