Disney (finally) dazzles China

You've got to give it to the suits over at Disney - they sure don't give up easy!

The multinational brand has been trying to get Mickey's white mitts on mainland China for more than a decade and - despite being allowed to sell Disney products and air Disney programmes - it has failed secure permission for its own channel or theme park... until now.

Disney

It seems Walt Disney has finally won approval for a new Disney park in Shanghai, making something of a mockery of the traditionally communist values of the Chinese government.

Maybe the country's clamp on foreign influence isn't quite as firm as the world believed, clearly relaxing at the promise of themed rides and Minnie merchandise.

Still, with Mickey and pals on your side (and an awful lot of money), how could they lose?!
