Built in the 1800s as a stately manor home, the Stanhill Court at Gatwick Airport retains its splendour today with sweeping oak panelled staircases and plush carpets.

The hotel is also fitted with a number of function rooms and is far enough away from the airport to seem like a retreat, perhaps because of its grand hilltop location, even though it's only five miles from Gatwick.

The hotel operates a courtesy shuttle to and from the airport, with taxi fees included in the room rate.
